Annually Reserve Bank Of India conducts an RBI Grade B 2023 recruitment drive to fill up the posts of Managers in its various regional officers. In 2023, RBI invited applications to eligible and interested candidates to apply for RBI Grade B 2023 examination. The notification in the newspaper was released on 25 April. However, the same was confirmed on the website of RBI a week later.
Examination Pattern and Procedure
The exam will be conducted in three phases. The first phase is a qualifying round in which 200 questions from Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, and General Awareness would be asked. The candidates who qualify for the second phase will have to attempt descriptive questions from Finance, Management, Economics, English, and Social Issues. Candidates qualifying for Interview will sit in front of the sharpest minds in India and give the interview which would be 75 marks. Then the selected candidates will have to go through simple medical tests.
Important Dates
The examination registration process has begun on 9 May 2023. However, the last date to apply was 9 June, but as per recent announcements and the bad situation in Manipur, RBI has extended the deadline for filling up of application form until 16 June 20230, 6 PM. The Phase 1 examination is scheduled on 9 July 2023 and the Phase 2 examination is scheduled on 30 July 2023.

The total number of vacancies reported in 2023 is 291, which is a good number. Out of which 222 vacancies are for the post of Officer in Grade B, (DR) General, 38 vacancies are for Officer in Grade B (DR) Department of Economic and Policy Research (DEPR) and 31 vacancies are for Officer in Grade B (DR) Statistics and Information Management (DSIM).
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must be less than 30 years to apply for this examination. However, the minimum age required to apply is 21 years. The calculation related to the examination is to be done keeping May 1, 2023, as a reference.
If you are a graduate and have attained 60% or more marks, then you meet the minimum educational qualification criteria for applying for Grade B- General posts. However, if your graduation percentage is less than 60 and you have a master’s degree in which you have attained more than 55% marks, then also you are eligible for Grade B-General posts. To qualify for DSIM and DEPR posts, a special Master’s Degree is required in specific fields, thus you can refer to the official notification for the same.
RBI Grade B 2023 Notification: Application Fee
The candidates have to pay fees while applying for the examination. The payment of fees will be done through online mode. Candidates belonging to the General category and OBC are entitled to pay Rs 850 plus GST, which will cost you around ₹1003 with GST. The candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PWDRs categories will have to pay Rs 100 only.
Salary Structure
RBI is one of the highest-paying government jobs in the country. The selected candidates will get as per ₹55200-2850(9)-80850-EB-2850 (2) – 86550-3300(4)-99750 (16 years). However, with perks and allowances, the monthly salary of an RBI Grade B officer can go up to ₹1,16,914/- (approx.). Thus, the annual package is somewhat around 22-28 Lacs CTC.
